Itinerary

(Drive time: 5 hrs)
Travel over the High Atlas Mountains for a rendezvous with the sky at Tizi n Tichka pass at 2260m above sea level. Stop and marvel at the amazing views over the hills and valleys below. Down the other side, you will travel past Berber villages and homes set on the hillsides. Watch out for goats and sheep on the roadside as you make your way towards Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.

You will travel along single land roads, through villages that have remained unchanged for centuries. Arrive to your accommodation in Dades Valley around dinner time.

(Drive time: 4 hrs)
After breakfast you will pass through the deep south of Morocco where Berber life unfolds around you. You will pass through Dades Gorge and on to Todgha Gorge for a hike on the riverbed. The rock face on either side of you is a vertical 350 m. Look for the rock climbers high up above as you explore the cut through below. Pass the Roses Valley and Tinghir and on through Tinjedad to Merzouga.

Once you arrive to the edge of the Sahara you will meet your camel caravan for a ride into the camp. Enjoy sunset on the dunes and dinner in the main tent, followed by local music and if weather permits, a roaring fire.

(Drive time: 6 hrs)
The nomads who operate your camp will awaken you just before dawn to see the sunrise. After breakfast you’ll start out on your way back to Ouarzazate. Your driver will be sure you have stops along the way to get in some exercise today. You can learn about the desert irrigation systems and see the valley 1,000 Kasbahs.

Tonight you’ll rest in Ouazazate. An important city for traders coming from sub-Saharan Africa, it is now known as the “Hollywood of Morocco” because of its favour with international film crews.

Day 4 :
Marrakech

After breakfast you will visit Kasbah Amadril in Skoura. This ancient kasbah and the best standing example of kasbah architecture and has many original artifacts to help understand what life was like in this sand castle like structure.

Take an alternate route back to Marrakech and visit Telouet Kasbah on the way. A beautiful ruin and oft forgotten by the regular tourist route.

Drive over the High Atlas Mountains and marvel at this amazing mountain pass, the highest in Morocco at 2160m before descending into the basin of Marrakech below. A city established in the 11th century, Marrakech is nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains and offers a glimpse into life in days gone by as you wander through the ancient medina (walled city) and explore Jemna El Fna Square, home to snake charmers and story tellers and a plethora of street food stalls that creates a spectacle that must be seen to be believed.
